Lighting – There is a vast difference between shop bought iron lighting and Burrows Lea Forge designed lights, they may be slightly more expensive but the sheer quality and individuality is clearly visible.

Single Gates – As you would expect, we make a lot of single gates, we have designed and made too many to list, what more can we say.

Pair Gates – A favourite type of commission, and a Forge speciality.

We offer an in-house automation service as well, and as you would expect it comes with our same guarantee of quality and reliability.

Signs – Another Forge speciality.

These commissions are usually are ordered by county, borough and parish councils.

They are increasingly a large part of our workload and offer a little immortality for the smith involved.

Weathervanes – Whatever you fancy!

We make them all.

Railings & Balustrades – A main stay of most Artist Blacksmiths, and one we have developed to remind customers that secure boundaries and limits do not have to look like prison compounds.

Fire Baskets – A seasonal item we advise customers to order early for winter.

These items are robustly made, and increasingly designed for modern fireplaces with very avant-garde styles.

Fire Stuff –Pokers, Tongs, Toasting Forks, Chestnut Roasters, Trivets, Range Cranes, Fire Curtain Guards, Log racks, Surround Seats, Fireside Oddities……etc.

We do them all, and more.

Fire Hoods & Canopies – Although we do not guarantee a smoke free solution to some fireplaces, a canopy sometimes does the trick.

All our canopies are different and are fitted by ourselves.

We can also supply Chimney Extractors.

Curtain Poles – We only make our own style of curtain pole, but we have over 40 stock designs. If you want something individual, we can always design one especially for you!!

Door Furniture – Some of our first commissions back in 1992 were thumb latches and hinges. We still make more thumb latches in a month than some blacksmiths do in year.

Handles, Bolts, Knockers, Bells……etc.

Well Covers – We have many designs, our lattice well covers are always popular and make an attractive and incredibly strong protection for dangerous areas, they make lovely Security Grilles too!

Garden Architecture – Pergolas, Gazebos, Colonnades, Arches, Water-Features, Sculpture and Jardinières.

We have lots of designs waiting for homes.

Kitchen and Home – Butchers Racks, Wine Racks,  Table Bases, Seating, Brackets, Hooks……etc.

Miscellany – Even if we haven’t seen an item before, or even heard of one, if it is wrought by hand, we can probably make it!

We often make prototypes, one offs and general “flights of fancy”.

Agricultural Hooks, Chains, Implements  & Heavy Horse Tackle– Although not a staple source of work, but from time to time we are asked to make authentic reproductions of ironwork for restoration projects or film makers. It is an interesting diversion and lets our blacksmiths rediscover lost skills and techniques.

Forgework – The majority of the items listed here are of a forged nature, this means that each piece of metal is individually heated, shaped and manipulated to suit it’s final place in a commission. This is forgework at its finest and should not be confused with cold bent, electrically welded, component based metal products.

Artist Blacksmiths – All our blacksmiths are fully trained either by R.D.C. (Salisbury) or R.D.C. (Hereford). Each blacksmith is actively encouraged to explore their creativity, with major benefits being passed on to the customer.
